Harvest Time

Care ricamatrici,

siamo nel pieno dell'estate e si avvicina il periodo del raccolto, anticamente importantissimo perché, se buono, garantiva la sopravvivenza nei freddi mesi invernali.

Oggi noi non abbiamo questi problemi, ma credo che sia importante comunque onorare i moltissimi doni che la nostra Madre Terra ci fa in questo periodo!

Ecco quindi uno schemino dedicato al Tempo del Raccolto.

Dear stitchers,

we are in the middle of summer and the harvest season is approaching, formerly important because, if good, ensured the survival in the cold winter months.

Today we don't have these problems, but I think it's still important to honor the many gifts that our Mother Earth gives us in this period!

So here's a little pattern dedicated to the Harvest Time.

Una signorina, con in testa un foularino per ripararsi dal sole, si appresta a raccogliere delle spighe dorate, mentre una merla birichina ha appena mangiato un chicco da una pannocchia matura.

A young lady, wearing a headscarf to protect from the sun, is preparing to collect the golden ears, while a rascal female blackbird just ate a grain of corn from a mature cob.

Spero che questo schemino vi piaccia! Io ne ho realizzato una borsina, nella quale vorrei inserire delle spighe secche ornamentali. Le ho viste proprio in quest giorni in un ristorante e mi piacerebbe trovarle! :)

I hope you like this pattern! I realized a little bag in which I would like to insert some dried ornamental ears of corn. I've seen them in these days in a restaurant and I would love to find them!

Spring Picnic

Care ricamatrici,

il primo tiepido sole primaverile ci onora della sua presenza e i fiori iniziano a spuntare numerosi!

Ogni anno, quando arriva questo periodo, mi prende una voglia vibrante di passare più tempo all'aperto e magari di organizzare un bel picnic con gli amici!

Così ho dedicato il mio nuovo schemino proprio ad una merenda golosa all'aperto in una bella giornata di primavera.
Per questo ricamino ho usato i filati Nina's Threads, ma nello schema ci sono i corrispondenti DMC ^_^

Dear stitchers,

the first lukewarm spring sun is honoring us with its presence and the flowers are starting to sprout all around!

Every year, when this period comes, I start to feel like spending time outdoor and maybe having a picnic with my friends!

So I dedicated my new pattern to a tasty tea break outdoor in a beautiful spring day.
For this pattern I used Nina's Threads, but inside the pattern there are the equivalent DMC threads ^_^

Ho finito proprio oggi di ricamare lo schema e non ho ancora il materiale per confezionarlo, ma ho deciso di presentarlo ugualmente sfruttando la bella giornata di oggi, perché nei prossimi giorni è prevista molta pioggia!

In ogni caso, ho intenzione di creare un cuscinetto per regalarlo alla mia nonnina!

Non sono per niente soddisfatta delle foto, ma c'era una luce strana, quindi non appena avrò confezionato il cuscinetto e ci saranno le condizioni adatte, farò nuove foto per sostituire queste ^_^

I have finished to stitch the pattern just today and I haven't the fabric to sew it yet, but anyway I've decided to present it taking advantage of the beautiful day today, because in the next days much rain is predicted!

Anyway my intention is to make a little cushion to give as a gift to my granny!

I'm not satisfied at all with the photos, but there was a strange light, so when I'll have sewed the cushion and there'll be the right conditions, I'll do new photos to replace these ^_^

Imbolc Blessings

Care ricamatrici,
se vi piace osservare la Natura, avrete notato quanto le giornate sono già più lunghe e luminose! Presto arriverà febbraio e con esso il giorno della Candelora, anticamente la festa di Imbolc dedicata alla celtica dea Brigit, conosciuta anche come Santa Brigida.
A lei ed alla sua festa piena di luce è dedicato il mio nuovo piccolo set, che comprende un'immagine di Brigit circondata dai tipici simboli della festività e una scritta di benedizione ed il piccolo ornamento con la Croce di Brigit.

if you like to observe the Nature, you'll have noticed that the days are longer and lighter! Soon february will be here and the day of Candlemas with it, in ancient times it was the festival of Imbolc dedicated to the celtic goddess Brigit, also known as Saint Brigit.
To her is dedicated my new little set. It includes an image of Brigit surrounded by the tipical symbols of the festival and a benedition writing and the little ornament with the Brigid Cross.
